Storm Preparedness For Small Business, an excellent event organized by SBIDC took place on 9/17/13.   The tips are also useful for home owners and non-profits, and much of it also applies for areas besides Red Hook.

SBIDC set up this day-long program which was run by The Dewberry Group who studied the Sandy experience of three Red Hook businesses before coming up with their recommendations.

The result is a lot of information about practical, hands-on things you can do: temporary storm barriers (commercial and do-it-yourself models) to prevent water from coming in cellars, windows and doors, and checklists on what kind of data to save or move, and who to call.  Here are the documents presented by The Dewberry Group that day:
