Deck work doesn't wait for weather.

The Able-bodied Seaman is tightening the splice after inspecting the gear.

Photograph of an able-bodied seaman working in snow flurries at Ira S. Bushey and Sons' old shipyard. The end of the line he is working on has been folded back and braided into itself to form a loop. He is inspecting and tightening that splice. Rising up at front right is a large oil storage tank, once part of Bushey's oil business, and later sold to Hess Oil.

In the background, as can be seen today is the GBX property and the ship LOUJAINE. This photograph is courtesy of Brian Moore
