Hōp. Cambodian restaurant slated to open in Red Hook

Hōp (pronounced hope) is slated to open some time in 2025. 

Bun Cheam and his wife Cait Callahan are opening a a Cambodian restaurant at 358 Van Brunt Street.  They are backed by Billy Durney who is the owner of two other Red Hook restaurants: Hometown Bar-B-Que and Red Hook Tavern.  Cheam was the Tavern's executive chef and Callahan the restaurant’s general manager and wine director.  According to Eater New YorkCheam, who is Cambodian, says the menu will be a mix of Cambodian breakfast dishes, as well as French pastry with Asian influence by day. For dinner, there will be street food dishes like grilled meats, stews, and noodles.
