There are plans (as of this wrinting in 2025) for the current federally-subsidized Red Hook Gardens to be rebuilt.  The new buildings promise that residents will pay no more than 30% of their income towards total housing cost.  The original buildings were built, in large part due to the efforts of Nancy Kearse Gooding.
