John Boyd, agent

In the 1850s, John Boyd was an agent, most likely for the shipping business. His office was on Van Brunt opposite the Atlantic Dock.  If this is the case then his would have been one of the many jobs created in brooklyn with the opening of the Atlantic Docks begining in 1845.
