The Atlantic Basin Iron Works was a marine repair business located at 168 Van Brunt Street. In the early 1920s, Joseph F. Moran was Vice President and Joseph A. Moran, Treasurer. It is not yet known if the Iron Works Morans were related to Michael Moran who founded the Moran Towing Company in 1860, which still operates in New York Harbor.
