The Atlantic Stevedoring, in the 1920s, was located on Pier 36 at the end of Pioneer Street.  Stevedoring companies supplied physical labor, but also the knowhow to properly load and unload ships both interms of space, weight, balance,security, and compatability.    In 1920 Claude Wood was the company manager.
